WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW...

 

Here's the nitty-gritty of what you need to know: some key considerations before planning your stay.

AGE REQUIREMENT: The primary renter must be 25 years of age or older.  (ID verification required upon booking).  Entry is strictly prohibited for individuals who misrepresent their age. Falsely claiming to be older than one is, or using any form of identification to mask one's true age, will result in immediate denial of entry and refusal of services. "NO REFUND!

​PAYMENT: Guests agree to pay 50% of the cost for their accommodation at the time of booking, and the remaining 50% final payment amount 7 days before arrival. (Sorry, no refunds after this time). 

​

MINIMUM STAY - Minimum stay is 2 nights; 3 nights during a long weekend. 

​

CHECK-IN - 3:00 p.m. - CHECK-OUT - 11:00 a.m.

​

NO SMOKING/VAPING in bunkies. (Outdoors only -ashtrays provided; forest fire hazard).

​

FOOTWEAR: to be WORN AT ALL TIMES on the grounds!  ( optional water shoes while swimming)

​

PETS: Unfortunately, we have a no-pet policy in the bunkies. Service pets require documentation. Thank you for understanding.

 

WHAT YOU NEED: Although we’ve got you covered with fully equipped kitchens — including utensils, pots, and pans — you’ll still need to bring some essential items, just like any camping trip:

~ Cooler ~ Food ~ Drinking water ~ Wood-fire cooking equipment ~

🧊 ICE is available for purchase throughout your stay if needed.

​

🛒 STORE: Bear Island does have a convenience store, the Pier Market (see link below),  which carries food, snacks, cigarettes, and gas; however, store hours are limited.  See link below.​​​​​

 

 

POWER/TOILET: We are off-grid and in the bush... we use outhouses and solar lighting.  We have electric generators for charging lights, lamps, and your devices.

FIRE RESTRICTIONS - burning in firepits only.  Please be aware of any fire restrictions in the area before your arrival.  See link below.​​

​​CELLULAR SERVICE:  Unplugged...Cell service is next to nil; one bar at various spots on the grounds.​

​

BEHAVIOUR: You are in a shared environment, we kindly ask all guests to respect the presence and space of others. Disrespectful or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and will be addressed immediately.

​

BEVVIES: This is not a party place!!  While excessive alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited, guests are welcome to enjoy beverages responsibly. As outlined in our camp agreement, all guests are expected to follow the camp rules, local laws, and show mutual respect at all times. (Please ensure you’ve read the full camp rules and agreement.)

 

QUIET TIME: We are family-friendly, therefore quiet time is 10 p.m.- for your comfort, as well as other guests and neighbours. (Talking is ok)

BUGS: Peak season is May until mid-July-ish (mosquitoes/blackflies).  BRING BUG DOPE! (We have coils) 

​

MEDS: Ensure you have all the required medications you need during your length of stay.

(This includes allergy/fever reducer- acetaminophen/ibuprofen)​
